Maintenance personnel are responsible for maintenance of Play & Learn facilities. Reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Director, Maintenance personnel will perform routine tasks and scheduled preventive maintenance including: visual inspection, testing equipment, repairs, and monitoring.

• Diagnose problems and make repairs in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry wall, etc.
• Maintain professional relationships with contractors, repair, and parts companies, and center leadership.
• Handle or assist in the receiving, recording, and preparing of work orders
• Perform safety related inspections
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance duties including visual inspection, testing equipment and operating machinery. Assists with safety inspections, tests, and drills, as required.
• Documents all activities and work orders completed, including repairs.
• Coordinates maintenance services with contractors.
• Maintains work areas, equipment and parts rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
• Observes all safety regulations, facility policies and procedures. Reports all accidents/incidents in addition to any unsafe areas or acts observed.
• Maintains the facility grounds by sweeping and cleaning outdoor walkways, patios, parking areas and grounds as assigned. Assists with snow removal and landscaping activities, as required.
• Participates in maintenance on-call schedule as assigned.
• Maintains the facility by removing trash and recyclables.
• Performs minor repairs, refurbishing projects, furniture/equipment moving and event set-ups and tear downs.
• Picks up, delivers and stocks supplies as needed.
• Assist in other facilities projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required
• Vocational/Technical School Diploma, preferred
• Previous construction, maintenance, plumbing, and/or electrical experience preferred
• Previous safety and maintenance training experience, preferred
• Ability move and lift a minimum of 40 to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to sit, stand, crouch, climb, walk, reach for extended periods of time
• Must have own vehicle and valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel between P&L locations in Montgomery County (Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Blue Bell, Norristown, Collegeville, Royersford, Lansdale, Abington, Hatboro & Fort Washington)
• Satisfactory Child Abuse, FBI, Criminal Clearance, Medical clearance, and MVR Check
• Flexible to work evenings and/or weekends

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of machines and tools including, but not limited to the use, repair process, and maintenance
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, has ability to prioritize work within given deadlines and to address emergencies as they may occur
• Ability to understand directions and follow through with assignments
